The styles of Ndebele beaded clothing and ornaments have remained constant over the last several centuries. Until 1940, Ndebele beadwork was predominantly white, incorporating simple geometric designs in a limited range of colors. The beautiful wedding train (inyoka) offered here reflects that philosophy, presenting an almost unbroken swath of brilliant white punctuated by a pair of delicate, multicolored designs. Two additional, smaller designs accent the ends of the train.
