Tellem Headrest-Mali

Today's Dogon people in Mali do not use headrests. This type has been found in the high caves of a predecessor people called Tellem, and were used for burial. The examples we know date from the eleventh to thirteenth centuries but may have earlier roots, as very similar headrests come from Dynastic Egypt.
